Episode 3: ”Perfect” Pat Garvey
PAT GARVEY is drummer in the legendary Ozric Tentacles and has played with a diverse range of artists over a long career as a professional musician, including The David Cross Band (King Crimson), The Prototypes, prog overlords Lonely Robot, Noel Redding (Jimi Hendrix), JAMES, David Jackson (Van Der Graaf Generator), Tim Booth, Freddie V (Average White Band), Lewis Stephens (Freddie King), and Fischer-Z amongst numerous others….including Auburn!. He also plays with renowned blues guitarist Danny Giles, is a multi-instrumentalist, an artist in his own right, and has written and produced music for brands like Range Rover, Santander, and Jamie Oliver. He also worked on the iconic Cadbury Gorilla advert.
Co-founder of ‘Toga Creative’, Pat is also Head of Drums/Principal Lecturer at BIMM University in the UK, works internationally as a demonstrator/clinician, lectures in popular music history and personal and professional development and runs a successful 1:1 private teaching and mentoring practice. He’s written over 300 educational articles for various industry and educational magazines/ webzines including iDrum Magazine and the iconic Rhythm Magazine, consulted on course design, led on module and assessment writing, and his own play-along book ‘LAWLESS’ was published in 2015. Pat has performed masterclasses and facilitated educational events all over the world and as well as his extensive professional experience also holds a masters degree and PGCert qualifications in Learning and Teaching.
